My Personal Quest
It is extremely important to me to keep this breed as natural, healthy and as protected from greed as possible. I, along with many friends, am as passionate about the welfare of this wonderful breed as anyone can be.
My ambition is to further educate myself about these dogs, and to encourage as many people as possible to breed the best possible Spanish Water Dogs. No one person has all the answers, but collectively we know all we need to develop a healthy and happy breed.
I, along with Gill Frost and Lynne Walker have driven to Southern Spain to buy and rescue Spanish Water Dogs. We go not just for ourselves, but also to collect and transport puppies for new owners. It is important work as we still need to expand the gene pool in the UK. We have some wonderful dogs being bred and some extremely conscientious breeders; some new stock can only benefit the breed. Importing dogs is not an easy option and the dogs bought from abroad are not puppies, they will be at least 10 months old before they are allowed to live in England.
In my eyes I have not seen anything more beautiful than a Spanish Water Dog on a farm working with the animals, with the farmer at his side. In Spain they are working dogs and you will see this often.

What an amazing sight, and this can still be seen on a daily basis in Spain.
